How is Invisalign different from other clear aligners?

Should I choose aligners or braces?

Both straighten teeth, but by different means. Traditional braces use metal brackets bonded to the teeth with a wire adjusted along the way, and traditional metal braces stay put until treatment finishes. In many cases, braces treat more complex bite problems. Ceramic braces work the same way, with tooth coloured brackets.

What does the treatment process involve?

Your first visit covers an examination of your teeth, gums and mouth, plus a chat about what is bothering you. If anything needs treating first, we sort that out. Once aligners suit, we take records, and your trays are made.

How long does treatment take?

Treatment time varies. Some cases wrap up within a few months; others run past a year, depending on how far your teeth must travel. We will schedule short appointments every few weeks to check your progress and hand over new sets.

Can I still eat what I like?

Yes. Because the trays lift out at mealtimes, there is no list of foods to steer clear of, so your favourite foods stay on the menu. Aim for 20 to 22 hours of wear a day, so put them back in soon after eating.

Do clear aligners cause discomfort?

Pressure or tightness for a day or two after changing sets is common, and that is the teeth shifting. Let your dentist know if anything feels sharp or lingers.

Will aligners affect brushing and flossing?

Brushing and flossing carry on as normal, since the trays come out first. That matters, because the Australian Dental Association notes that cleaning well between your teeth is especially important during orthodontic care.

Is a straighter smile better for my dental health?

What if I have missing teeth as well?

Gaps change how the remaining teeth move, so your dentist will check whether you need to replace missing teeth before or after straightening. Dental implants can be discussed at the same appointment.

How much do clear aligners cost?

There is no set price. It depends on how many aligners you need and how long you are in treatment. You will get a written quote setting out the cost before anything begins.

What payment options are available?

Can I straighten my teeth with aligners bought online?

What happens once my aligners come off?
